Subject: Highway 30 east on Washington Street
City Council Meeting: Dec 1 1931
A petition asking that the Council take action on locating Highway No. 30 over the C ST P M & O RR on East Washington Streets was read.
Moved and Seconded, this petition be received and placed on file. All Councilmen present voting ‘AYE’, the motion carried.
Moved and Seconded, that the request submitted in the road petition be rejected.
After discussion, Mr. Jensen suggested that the petition filed in connection with Highway No. 30 be withdrawn by the petitioners and that the City Attorney and an Attorney for the petitioner's be asked to investigate the proper method of procedure.
Mr. Snyder stated that with the consent of those present who had signed the petition be would withdraw the same.
Moved and Seconded. That the Council allow the withdrawal of the petition.
All Councilmen present voting ‘AYE’, the motion carried.
Moved and Seconded, that the City Attorney be instructed to confer with the
Attorney to be appointed by the Citizen’s, as to ways and means of
establishing the road on East Washington Streets over the C ST P M & O RR
Tracks, provided there be no expense to the city.
On roll-call, Hundahl, Garner, Jensen, Moore, Schmidt, Roberts and Rodgers
voting ‘AYE’ McKay being absent, the motion carried.
