In the foreground is the station with its two gas pumps. Visible
through the opening is the Hindleys' 1927 Buick coupe. The building in the middle of the picture was the store. The Hindley family lived in the south half of the second floor of this building. After the motel was built this building served as the laundry facility. |
The sign in front indicates they sold Marathon gasoline. Leroy Schneider was their wholesaler. The two buildings to the left in the photo were later turned around and moved up to the lot line. They were the last cabin units to be demolished. The camp even boasted of a mini golf course. |
