Illustrate Report Portfolios
Morison:
Spanning the Missouri Reports
includes a volume on the Blair Bridge
A group of nine bridge reports submitted by
Morison, the chief engineer in each case, to the various
railway companies upon completion of their bridge. Ranging in
date from 1882 to 1894, they demonstrate the great advance in
and widespread use of American steel-truss railway bridges.
Each report describes the preliminary history of the project
and its construction, including foundations, piers,
approaches, etc. They are all magnificently illustrated with
lithographic plates containing detail drawings, particularly
of the metal structures, and, very often, photographic
illustrations.
