  Purposed Campus Plan   c. 1921

A number of early campus plans included the raising of Old Main and construction of new buildings.  Below is an architectural drawing taken from an 1921 Souvenir Issue of the Dana College Hermes showing a purposed campus plan that was considered.  From this drawing, it might be assumed that the Old Main structure would be raised leaving the old Men & Women's dormitories (Elkhorn & Argo Halls) -- seen on the right side of the drawing.  Two additional "mirror image" buildings would be constructed to the east and the "New Main Hall" built to the south (about where the Campus Center is today.)

This cut was made from the architect's drawing and gives a good idea of the proposed GREATER DANA as it will appear in reality.  The students are watching the development of this plans with fond expectation.
