Fernando's

Project:  The BHPA has been asked by Denny Hall, owner of Fernando's Cafe & Cantina to supply historic photo enlargements for the party room of this restaurant.  He has plans to rename the area "The Blair Room."  Denny expressed a strong desire to either pay the costs of the project or give a generous donation to the BHPA for the effort.  It was discussed that the BHPA name would be credited for supplying the photographs.  The proposed plan calls for a large 8-foot by 10-foot enlargement of the Mayle & Hungate buildings from the Shirley Gutschow collection to be created and displayed on the far north wall of the room.  In addition, 12-14 enlargement about 13-inches by 19-inches of other historic landmarks would be made and framed to be displayed around the room.

Cost: The smaller enlargements can be produced at very good quality for about $5 each at Pounds Printing.  Frames can cost anywhere from $10-$25 each.  (There has been some effort in attempting to locate a quantity of simple frames at a discount story to meet the need.)

The large mural style photograph could be created using a method of transforming the single picture in a set of 20-55 dot screened modules that could be seamed together.  The single 8 1/2 X 11 pieces of paper could be individually framed and the group would be exhibited in a matrix to produce the large scale image.  (Downtown window display idea.)
