Historic Homes Registry
The Historic Homes Registry is part of the Historic Landmarks
Registry maintained by the
Blair Historic
Preservation Alliance.
Its mission is to identify, research,
document and celebrate homes that
represents segments of local history and architectural
interest. The Registry provides a starting point for research and services as an
archive for historic information pertaining to each home.

Landmarks Registry
The Blair Historic
Properties Registry is a research project of the Blair Historic Preservation
Alliance. Its mission is to identify, research, document and recognize Blair
sites, districts, structures and locations of historic or architectural
interest, public and private, existing and demolished. It also seeks to
increase public awareness of and interest in these sites.

Brick
Street Preservation
The Blair Historical Preservation
Alliance wishes to ensure that the city's remaining Brick Streets are given due
consideration from both the economic and cultural perspectives before their fate
is decided.

Downtown District
The Blair Historic Preservation Alliance seeks to
document the history of Blair’s structures and sites through its Historic
Landmark Registry. This year, the BHPA has added the Historic Downtown District
to the Registry and is actively researching and documenting the history of each
downtown building.

Historical Tours
The Blair Historic Preservation Alliance produces
printed brochures that provide information on historical landmarks and areas of
Blair. The current tour brochure focuses on the buildings listed on the
National Register of Historical Places.

Lincoln Highway Marker
The alliance is working to establish a marker to commemorate the Blair's
connection with the Lincoln Highway and Highway 30. The B-Line
(Blair-Line) was a highway short cut that originally crossed the Missouri River
by ferry and then by bridge after the Lincoln Highway was formally disbanded.

Historical Picture Calendar
The Blair Historic Preservation Alliance is carrying on the tradition started in
1996 by the local Kiwanis Club of publishing an annual calendar with photos of
old Blair. The cover of the 2007 calendar features a 1959 photo
of a Dana Homecoming Parade down Washington
Street. There are thirteen pages of old photographs: early
schools and residences, the Sas Bros. Building, the 1925 Railroad Bridge
Replacement, the little known "Monroe" Building, Dana
College
’s Old Main, the Danish
Lutheran
Publishing House, First
Baptist
Church, old East School, the Railroad Depot. Tan paper, brown print, brown
plastic spiral bound. Suitable for hanging. Closed, 11-1/2 x 11
