Nomination Criteria to Registry Page

General Goals

  • Conduct "In depth" research on local landmark properties through interviews, public forums and material gathering
  • Formalize research into pamphlet, news articles, public programs, tours, archive files.

Purpose

  • To present compelling information to the community to develop appreciation of our heritage and historic assets. Expanded Mission Statement
  • Provide for a historic record of this landmarks

Strategic Goals

  • 2 months
    • process notes from Memory Lane Event for the Historic Downtown District project
       
  • 6 months
    • develop method of identifying landmarks
    • develop a frame work to gather, document and archive history of landmarks
    • conduct additional activities for continued development of the Historic Downtown District project
       
  • 12 months
    • develop historic summaries of selected Landmarks and archive documentation
    • develop walking tour for Historic Downtown District
    • conduct programs pertaining to Historic Landmarks
    • publish landmark histories in news articles, pamphlets, and website -- 10-12 properties.
       
  • 2 years 
    • ?? implement a program to formally recognize landmarks through Historic Signage/Markers, annual preservation awards and events (such as walking tour).
